Information about us

We are Glaze the world ehf., Bjargargötu 1, 102 Reykjavík, Iceland. We are the controller of the processing of your personal data in the App. We are the developer of Glaze, a business-to-business solution for connecting businesses’ Point-of-Sale product catalogs and resource booking services with payment infrastructures in order to provide their customers with a frictionless customer experience, featuring contactless Order & Pay, self-service and delivery automation. The App is a management app for administrating certain aspects of a businesses’ subscription to Glaze, and is meant for use by employees (“Members”) of those businesses. 

How do we process your personal data in the App?

In the App, you can gain information on, and change, settings for Glaze.

To be able to provide you with these services, we need to process your personal data. We only collect such data directly from yourself or your device, and only if you accept these Terms. We transfer the personal data to our processor who saves it and processes it to be able to provide you with the services.

For what purposes do we process your personal data?

We process your personal data solely to authenticate you for use of the App, keep a record for the relevant Member of actions taken in the App, and to obtain diagnostic and statistical information for us about use of the App. 

What is the lawfulness basis for our processing of your personal data?

We base all of our processing of your personal data on your consent, which you can provide by ticking the 'Accept Terms' box here in the App.

What are the types of your personal data that we process?

We process the following types of your personal data:

  • Contact information, i.e. your name and email address.

  • Usage information, i.e. information about how often and how the App is used, including what route the users take to move through it and what they click on, in what order, and how often.

  • Diagnostic information, i.e. information about whether the App crashes, freezes or quits suddenly, how long it takes to start, and how much power it uses.


Where do we transfer your personal data to?

We transfer your personal data to our processor, who processes it in order to provide you with the services you are offered in the App. Our processor is Google, and we have entered into a processing agreement with it in accordance with the applicable data protection statutes. We reserve our rights to change and add processors. We do not hand your personal data over to others unless required under prevailing law or by a decision issued by a competent court.

For how long will your personal data be stored?

We store the aforementioned personal data related to your use of the App while you have an account with us. Once you delete that account, the personal data will be deleted within three months, except those data found in back-up copies, which may take a longer time before being deleted, but no longer than three years.

What are your rights regarding the processing?

You have the right to request access to and a copy of your personal data from us, to have it corrected if it is incorrect or misleading, or to have it deleted if we are no longer authorized to process it. These rights are described in more detail in the Data Protection Act, cf. now Articles 17 and 20 of Act No. 90/2018. According to the latter article, you also have the right to transfer your own data or that we limit the processing of personal data about you, if certain conditions are met. You also have the right to object to the processing in accordance with Article 21 of the law. In addition, you have the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority regarding the processing.
